  • There is only 1 recording date. If you cannot make the recording date, you will not be considered for the band. NO RESCHEDULES OR SPECIAL SET UPS.
 
REHEARSAL DATES: 
Upon receiving news that we made the line up, we will begin rehearsal dates during YOUNG BAND SPRING SEMESTER. We may call a few short rehearsals this semester. I will let you know.

GENERAL NOTES ON JAZZ FEST BAND REQUIRMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS
  • JAZZ FEST BAND FIRST: Students must be willing to either be in both their regular Young Band AND Jazz Fest band OR Jazz Fest Band only if they don't have time for both. Jazz Fest Band always comes first. 
  • SCHOOL FIRST: Students must keep no less than a 2.5 cummulative grade point average to stay in Jazz Fest Band. Excellence in school is a must.
  • Students must perform all songs chosen by the director. Songs will be chosen by the director only. 
  • Students must commit to The Young Band Program and all applicable fees through summer 2012. 
  • Students must place Spring and Summer Rehearsals before other commitments to extracurricular activities. 
  • Students must be willing to work on weekends for gigs, rehearsals, and general meetings.
  • Students must be willing to perform at all required BRMS performances including Private Lesson and RockLab showcases. 
  • Students must keep up with all new materials and show up to rehearsals prepared and having completed previous week's homework assignments. 
  • Parents must be willing to commit the time necessary to bring students to all rehearsals, performances, and events. 
  • Parents must be willing to help seek out private and corporate sponsorships to cover travel and/or tour costs over summer 2012.
  • Parents must be active and positive throughout the entire process.

Saturday, January 14th - Instrumentalist Rehearsal 11am-2:30pm

Saturday, January 21st - FULL BAND REHEARSAL 11am-3pm

Sunday, January 22nd - ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS - Meet and Greet 12pm-2pm

Saturday, January 28th - REHEARSAL/RECORDING SESSION - 11am-3pm Instrumentalists only.

Sunday, January 29th - Overdub session for musicians who need it. 4pm-7pm

Saturday, February 4th - FULL BAND REHEARSAL - 11am-3pm

Friday, February 10th - USS KIDD Peformance 

Saturday, February 11th - REHEARSAL/RECORDING SESSION - 11am-3pm Instrumentalists - 3pm-6pm Vocalists
