Camps at a Glance

Hi! Welcome to Young Band Nation! YBN summer camps are a fun way to learn music, make friends, and discover your inner rock star! In addition to learning performance skills on a specific instrument, YBN Campers also learn valuable communication and leadership skills as they journey through starting a band to playing a show in just five days. YBN Campers are also exposed to recording hardware and software, as well as the basic elements of videography.

Our campers will experience some combination of the following:

  • Individualized instruction on his/her instrument.
  • Group instruction with his/her band.
  • Daily workshops on a myriad of music topics.
  • Group instruction on recording technology.
  • Guidance in creating an original music video for his/her band.
  • Free time to create in the technology lab or just chill out with friends.
  • Daily snacks and sandwich lunch.
  • Live performance at the end of the week.
Camps differ in price and age range depending on the specific type of camp chosen, and depending on which city the camp is held. Camps are currently held in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Official camp times are 9am to 4pm daily. Early drop off and late pick up are available for an extra charge. Please take a tour through the website to get a clearer picture of what each camp offers and how to know whether or not your child will qualify for each camp.

testimonials

"BRMS has had a very positive effect on the Baton Rouge community and fostered many young talented musicians. I am always impressed with the professional staff at BRMS and how well the public performances are organized. We at PreSonus are big fans of BRMS and will continue to support it in the future." Jim Odom, President at PreSonus Audio and member of Louisiana's LeRoux

"Doug Gay and Baton Rouge Music Studios provide a great service to the community. In my experience with them, they have connected kids with seasoned professional musicians in order to create meaningful and educational experiences for their students. I believe the professionals learn a great deal from these experiences too." Leon Medica of Louisiana's LeRoux
